Inspiration

Jesse Owens was one of Wilma's idols. He came from a small town in Alabama and also ran in the Olympics, where he won numerous metals. Jesse was an inspiration to Wilma always reminding her to try her best and never give up.

Another person that Wilma was fortunate to know was Ed Temple. He saw potential in her and helped coach and guide her into the person and athlete she became.
